I. A Constitution to be Abolished

The Tatmadaw (the Defence Services) was fond of -- and got used to -- drafting a constitution spending millions of kyats and then abolishing it at will after fourteen years.

First: The Constitution of the Union of Burma (1947) was drafted first under the leadership of U Aung San (ex-Major General) and later under the leadership of U Nu, who replaced U Aung San when U Aung San died.

Fourteen years later, this Constitution was abruptly abolished by General Ne Win in 1962. [1948 to 1962 = 14 years] Second: The Constitution of the Union of Burma Socialist Republic (1974) was
drafted under the leadership of U Ne Win (ex-General). Fourteen years later, this Constitution was abolished by General Saw Maung in 1988. [1974 to 1988 = 14 years] Third: The Constitution of Myanmar (2006?) has been in the process of being drafted since 1993 under the leadership of Senior General Than Shwe.

Fourteen years later (?), this Constitution was abolished by Senior General Shwe Mann (?) in 2020 (?). [2006 to 2020 =14 years]
