"A Renewed Argument of Trade vs. Sanctions"

The CEO's of Western companies which trade with the military regime in Burma are like depraved men who accept the the military regime's invitation to take part in the gang-rape of a helpless, woman beaten to a pulp.

The reason I came up with such a sordid figure of speech, analogy if you will pardon me, is because, earlier, there was a discussion between a young Rumanian lady activist and you all about whether Western companies should take trade or not, (not meaning pro-sanctions.)
The stance that the pro-traders took was the usual litany of "If-We- Do-Not-Trade,-Then-The-Chinese,-ASEAN,-etc-etc.-Will-Take-Our-Place."  (the usual SELF-serving mealy-mouthed argument we've heard SO many times)
At that moment, the young lady and the rest of the pro-sanctions people seemed to be at a loss for words.
I wanted to make a rebuttal but was too busy at that time.
So now, here it is. Touche! En garde!
To continue:
Think of the horrible rape accounts in "License to Rape" by the Shan and the "Breaking the Silence" by the Karen, and by Kevin Heppner's Karen Human Rights Group (KHRG.org) the Rhododendron by the Chin, the Kao Wao by the Mon, the Irrawaddy by the Burmese, and etc, etc.
Imagine a scene where the depraved military regime officer takes the first turn raping a poor girl.  Then he tells, no, he yells and ORDERS the rest of his soldiers to take turn after turn for the rest of the day and the night and the next day and the next night and the next day and the next night and the....
A platoon of soldiers is 30 men led by a lieutenant.  A company is 100 men led by a captain.  Imagine how many men took part, depending on what particular unit the poor girl ran into that day in the jungle while --- e.g., collecting firewood.
The British and the Americans are supposed, "Supposed" to be upholding democracy and human rights and all that is decent in the world.
The Communist Chinese (and I say this even though my name is really a Chinese surname because I do make a strong distinction between the government and the people) Indians, and ASEAN have proved ---  by their unscrupulous trading in the past decade --- that they are morally depraved, evil, vicious, avaricious, self-serving S.O.B's  (you know my acronym for them)
The military regime generals (pardon my French, the M-F SOB's)  are, in fact, raping their own Motherland, OUR Motherland,  by selling out all the natural resources to the depletion point of NO return. [Aside: I don't care what you think of my language.  In Burmese, that is exactly how we all refer to the military regime generals, "M-F SOBs." It is an irreversible part of our Burmese political language now.]
So when the generals invite foreign companies to trade, (in reality, plunder) it is the same as the gang rapes in the "License to Rape" and other reports.
And what do you say to the Western CEO's who say, "If I don't take part, then the Chinese...etc will take my place..."??
The Westerners should remain on moral high ground.  Let me not hear of any Westerner who still wishes to join the gang rape with the military regime.  If I do hear of him, SHAME on that immoral WRETCH.
This is the reason why Western companies should NOT trade.
I have to use  very morbid sickening Analogies to make my point stick.
Let the depraved Chinese (etc.) trade. One day the Day of Reckoning WILL come. The Wheel of Karma will turn. And then we will see who will writhe and weep.
I rest my case.
