THE ROAD TO BURMA LIBERATION IS THROUGH BANGKOK
 

 

In 1941, when General Aung San and the Burma Independence Army prepared to reenter Burma, they first had to land in Bangkok and then go to the Thai border and cross into Burma.   

Likewise, today, the Road to Burma Liberation can also be through Bangkok.  At the present time, PM Thaksin is under seige from hundreds of thousands of Thai people who are demanding that he resign for corruption charges. If the people outside of Burma join in this demonstration, and then Thaksin falls,  it will send a very strong signal to the people inside Burma. 

Think of the saying, "Htan thee kyway khaik, kyee nah laik."  (As the crow landed on the toddy fruit, it fell to the ground.)Whether we join or not, Thaksin IS going to fall.  We can be like the crow that lands on the toddy fruit just as it is about to fall, and then when it does, the people in Burma will feel that our demonstrations helped overthrow Thaksin.  

Everyone knows how Thaksin has supported Thanshwe. The two of them are like "pa-linn tu boo zoht"  (Identical two corks for the same bottle) Each is as corrupt as the other and they thrive from their relationship.  If one falls, the other will, too.  Thanshwe is already, since last year, fearing for his own safety.  Remember how he ordered millions of kyats(Than)worth of  gold (Shwe) to be sold "out" as a Voodoo Yadaya to avert his own downfall, and how he ordered all the government servants to move "out" at exactly 11:11 a.m. on the 11th of the 11th month. 

He had them chant, "We are getting out, getting out, getting out,"which is also another Burmese Voodoo Yadaya.  He and his people  have symbolically left the seat of power in Rangoon, which means his authority will be assured and his downfall averted.   

Thaksin, however, did not do any preemptive Thai voodoo and so now it is the  people are demanding in the streets for HIM to "get out, get out, get out."  He should have, like Thanshwe, ordered them to "get out" first.

One only needs to look at the newsphotographs from Thailand to see the thousands of demonstrators bearing signs against Thaksin.  It is quite certain that Thaksin will be deposed and so it is important that people outside of Burma capitalize on it.  

By joining the Thais in their protest, they will appreciate the support and as more and more people outside Burma protest against Thaksin, the news media will pay attention, and when he does fall, the Burmese can take partial credit.   

Think of General Aung San, riding along with the Japanese columns as he and his men entered Burma.  To the Burmese people, General Aung San was the hero who liberated them from the British, never mind the Japanese juggernaut.   

But the real purpose of joining the anti-Thaksin movement is not to get credit.  It is really to send a powerful signal back to Burma that Thanshwe's pardner-in-crime was eliminated through People's Power, and thus, Yadaya or no Yadaya, the people will be inspired to rise up and fulfill the prophecy of Thanshwe's downfall.   

This article appeals to all the People of  Burma who are overseas: it is time to demonstrate at the Thai embassies around the world, and most significantly, at the government ministries in Bangkok -- in solidarity with the Thai people.  Think of this as a dry run for the Burma Uprising of 6-6-6, a practice rehearsal of sorts.

Today, Thaksin in Bangkok. Tomorrow, Thanshwe in Kyet Pyay, Pyinmana.  With the Uprising of the Three Sixes, the Burmese language will gain a new phrase, Kyet Pyay, the Chicken Run.  Ordinarily, there is only the expression, "Khway Pyay, Wett Pyay"  (dogs running, pigs running, i.e., everything in pandemonium.) 

A debacle where a dictator and his army have panicked and are running for their lives in a state of bedlam and chaos will be henceforth known in Burmese as Khway Pyay, Wett Pyay, Kyet Pyay.   

Let me end this article with a poem that was inspired just now by pondering over the above ridiculous new phrase. This poem has to do with repenting or going to hell. I am using poetic license by taking liberties with the English translation for the title.  Literally, it should be "Repent or Fall Down into Hell," but don't you think "Run" is more appropriate, as it matches the final line?

 

"NAUNG DAH. MA-YAH., NGA-YAIR KYAH.!"
               (REPENT or RUN to HELL!)

     (Prepare to eliminate Thanshwe & Thaksin)
Pyinmana dwin Aung Bwair Hsin
     (We'll hold a victory ceremony in Pyinmana) 

Thanshwe, Maung Aye bair go pyay
     (Where will Thanshwe and Mg Aye run?)
Kyet Pyay hmah bair athet pay
     (Give up their lives in Kyet Pyay?) 

Agoot chain hmah naung dah yah.
     (At this time,  repent )
Pyithu doht. ahh taung pan gyah.
     (Seek the forgiveness of the People) 

Marnah. kyee yin thay gain myin
     (if they are too proud, they will die)
Khway Pyay, Kyet Pyay Htah wa zin
     (They'll forever be known as the Running Dog & Running Chicken) 

Pyinmanashin Yazawin (tho. ma-hoak) Thamaing win
     (The King of Pyinmana will go down in History)
Khway Pyay, Kyet Pyay Nga-Yair Win
     (As the dog and chicken that ran to Hell)
