The Fall of the Buroman Empires (Buroman = Burman + Roman) by Baydin Sayar
This article is to “remind” SPDC generals to hand over power to the people as mandated by the results of the 1990 election through TRILATERAL talks: the Ethnic Groups, the Democratic NLD, and the Military itself. Otherwise, if an equitable, peaceful reconciliation cannot be achieved, then soon the Burman Empire will fall ---in a manner much worse than the Roman Empire. General Than Shwe himself knows the SPDC Burman Empire is about to fall --- since last year. That was when he began resorting to desperate yeddayar voodoo to prevent this disaster. He is a shrewd, smart tactician and yet he performed drastic yeddayar, selling out millions of kyats worth of gold, wasting hundreds of millions more to switch capitol cities, and recently marrying off a 30+ year-old film actor to his 70+ year-old wife (without divorcing her) and then he himself came along on the Honeymoon. (Could it be that he had a kinky desire to watch?) But whatever he does, this yeddayar voodoo won't work and it only makes him look more ridiculous than ever. It just shows the poor man is truly terrified that his empire is about to fall. Otherwise, who would willingly let himself become the laughing stock, the Fool of the World, Gabaht Sauk Paw? The self-made cuckold, Paik Baw Phanthamah? The only way to save himself and the Empire is to hand over power through Trilateral Negotiations and abide by the 1990 election results. Since he has not done so, we have to remind him of it. In South Africa, President deKlerc saw the writing on the wall and despite the many years of bitter black vs. white apartheid, he was able to reach out and make peace with Nelson Mandela. Thus he also received the Nobel Peace Prize. It is still not too late for Gen. Than Shwe to follow this example and retire honorably. If he is too late, all he will get is the Piss Prize. In 1943, Hitler was master of Europe (except for a few countries) and he could have made peace with Britain, Russia, and America. But instead, he continued to fight and even invaded Russia. He never thought of negotiation and thus, in just two more years, 1945, he lost everything, had to shoot himself, and was burned up like trash by his own men. Such was the Fall of Hitler and the Third Reich. How about the Roman empire? Why did it fall? Readers are encouraged to search on Google with the key words, <fall of the roman empire> and the first choice will be: Reasons for the fall of the Roman Empire (a summary is given below) Religion Some historians blame Christianity. When Romans became Christians, they became pacifists and did not want to fight. Money that could have been used to maintain the empire was diverted towards building churches. Decline in Morals and Values Others say there was moral corruption which eroded the cohesiveness of the Roman legions. Violent crimes were rampant in the streets as were the prostitutes, as many as 32,000 walking the streets of Rome. Emperors like Nero and Caligula wasted money on lavish parties and gladiator fights in the Colosseum. If the ground became too bloody then sand was spread over it and the games went on. Public Health There were many public health and environmental problems. Diseases spread through the people and alcoholism increased. Political Corruption One of the most difficult problems was choosing a new emperor. The choice was always open to debate between the old emperor, the Senate, the Praetorian Guard, and the Army. Sometimes the throne was given to the highest bidder, at other times, the emperors were killed off. Within a 100 year period, there were 37 emperors - 25 of whom were assassinated. This weakened the empire. Unemployment Wealthy men owned large farms that were run by slaves. Poor farmers who did not have cheap labor lost to such competition and had to sell their farms, and the unemployed farmers flocked to the cities. This became a burden to the State and a source of crime. Inflation The Roman economy suffered from inflation once they stopped conquering new lands; the flow of gold then decreased. The amount of gold used in coins decreased, dropping its value. To compensate this, the price of commodities rose. Many people stopped using coins and bartered in food, such as grain, fruits, and vegetables. Urban decay Wealthy Romans lived houses of marble with glass windows. Most Romans were not rich and lived in small, smelly apartments which numbered as many as 44,000 apartment houses. Anyone who could not pay the rent became homeless in the crime-infested streets and cities began to decay. Inferior Technology The Romans were limited to building roads, bridges, and aqueducts. They established the first system of medicine for the poor. But they relied so much on human and animal labor, and failed to invent new technology to produce goods more efficiently and could not provide enough goods for their growing population. Military Spending This was a constant drain on the Treasury and diverted money from public housing, maintaining roads and aqueducts. Frustrated Romans would not join the Army, and it had to hire expensive mercenaries. Taxes had to be raised leading to increased inflation. THE FINAL BLOWS For years, the well-disciplined Roman army held the barbarians of Germany back. Then in the third century A. D. the Roman soldiers were pulled back from the Rhine-Danube frontier to fight civil war in Italy. This left the Roman border open to attack. Gradually Germanic hunters and herders from the north began to overtake Roman lands in Greece and Gaul (later France). Then in 476 A. D. the Germanic general Odacer overthrew the last of the Roman Emperors, Augustulus Romulus. From then on the western part of the Empire was ruled by Germanic chieftains. Roads and bridges were left in disrepair and fields left untilled. Pirates and bandits made travel unsafe. Cities could not be maintained without goods from the farms, trade and business began to disappear. And Rome was no more in the West. The above is a summarized version of the original which was found on the Internet. Its author then asks readers to use the same subtitles in the above article to predict the “Fall of the US.” Isn't Free Speech and Democracy wonderful? In the US, it is actually possible to freely debate such a topic without getting "sent to Moscow." (Common euphemism for Insein Prison, the largest of its kind in Burma) Thus, in a free society, because of open debate, citizens can detect inherent problems and hopefully work together to avert disaster. This is very different from the situation in Burma where nothing can be debated freely, so any disaster brewing will blow out of proportion until nothing can stop it. Let us use our Freedom of Speech to debate since we are in the “Liberated Area,” as our ABSDF comrades are so fond of calling (ABSDF likes to call its branch offices the “Liberated Areas” whether it is on the Burma-Thai border or whether it is in downtown Tokyo, Seoul, or any area free of SPDC ) ?? Fall of the SPDC Burman Empire?? Present day examples: _ Religion SPDC Generals are making a parody of Buddhism. They go to worship Buddha with pistols strapped on, and they say Phayah, Phayah (Buddha, Buddha) all the time, but their hands are kah-yah, kah-yah, flaying around, soaked with blood. They waste millions building pagodas in their names, burying witchcraft amulets in the vaults with the hope that pilgrims worshipping these shrines will bring them power and merit to keep them out of Hell. Although Buddhism allows for peaceful coexistence, SPDC is forcibly converting Christians and Muslims into Buddhists and destroying churches and mosques. SPDC officers have secretly defiled the Holy Mahamuni Buddha image, opening up the abdominal area to remove the Baddamyah Ngamauk ruby, said to confer supernatural powers and render its owner invincible. They have arrested hundreds of monks, forcibly defrocked and imprisoned them. They have buried human sacrificial victims under pagodas, such as in the Shan States. Such evil deviation of Buddhist Principles is abhorrent to all Buddhists and will surely merit the Eternal Damnation of SPDC. Decline in Morals and Values Despite the military's Code of Ethics, SPDC has encouraged officers, soldiers, civilian officials, workers to live off the land, i.e., take bribes, extort money, steal, lie, cheat, swindle, exploit, murder, torture, rape, and enslave the people. How can any nation survive such immorality? Public Health HIV had been around for many years and SPDC ignored it. Why? Most likely because they wanted to depopulate the Ethnic Groups. But what the SPDC did not realize was that HIV is harmful to everyone. Thus, the Burman SPDC has stupidly allowed HIV to spread all over the country including its own Burman group as well as spread it to its supporting allies, the S.O.A. B.I.T.Ch neighbors (Singapore, Other Asians, Bangladesh, India, Thailand, China) Bird Flu is here and at first they were about to ignore it, too, but then the fat SPDC generals realized that they might never get to eat chicken again, so they began taking steps to stop the epidemic. This is the only reason why SPDC began moving into action so soon. Other diseases like TB, leprosy, malaria, anemia, malnutrition, hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases, run rampant because there is no effective public education and preventive programs. Whatever aid the international NGO's provide is being discouraged by draconian restrictions and many have quit the country. Patients languish in hospitals for lack of medicine. Patients' families must buy medical supplies from outside and bring them in. Political Corruption National leaders come to power through assassination, kidnap or imprisonment of the incumbent leaders. Rival leaders are eliminated by coups. Political posts are provided only to relatives and cronies. If enough bribery can be given, even national treason can be forgiven. Drug lords like Law Sing Han and Khun Sa had private armies fighting the government and yet when they surrendered holding millions in hand, they were given mansions in the same community as Chairman Ne Win, becoming his next-door neighbors. Unemployment For years, students graduating from high school and college had no jobs. Graduates are driving taxis or selling foodstuffs at the market, or standing in lines to buy cheap government products and selling them outside since there is no other worthwhile work to do.
Inflation Urban decay Many old buildings from the past century are still exist in sad disrepair. Homeless beggars and lepers line the streets. Unemployed people take to lining up for tickets at the station, cinema, stadiums and sell them for profit. In downtown Mandalay, rows of houses mysteriously burn down and are sold to illegal Red Chinese infiltrants. Homeless people build squalid huts and live as squatters outside the city. Inferior Technology Whatever factories Burma used to have have now been beaten out of competition with the advent of cheap Chinese goods. Whatever technology that might have developed is stifled. Military Spending The military takes over 50 % of the national budget. The generals buy a squadron of Russian MIG jet fighters that the nation does not need. It imports billions of dollars worth of rockets, armaments, artillery, tanks, gun boats which are more than enough to suppress the population; so obviously, the unnecessary buildup is to invade neighboring countries. Most countries find it hard to tolerate a military allotment of 5% or more of the national budget. So how can Burma ever survive yielding 50%? Final Blows The government is unable to recruit enough soldiers and so kidnaps children as young as 13 and forced to become soldiers. 70,000 of the 400,000 are such children. Soldiers are not given enough pay and have to forage for their own food. Generals are at odds with each other, vying for power, outsmarting each other and pulling off coups and power-grabs. The Chinese that used to be kept out are now freely allowed to infiltrate and national citizenship cards are sold for only $500 each, and one needs to speak Chinese in Upper Burma to get around. The Civil War that has gone on since 1948 still rages on and the government has taken to exploding its own terrorist bombs and then accusing the ethno-democratic forces, and using this as an excuse for driving out thousands of Karen and other ethnic people out of their ancestral lands. This is Genocide. In addition, the NLD is being gradually forced out of existence along with the Student Leaders of the ABSDF. What Next? Daw Aung San Suu Kyi herself may well be annihilated along with the rest of the Burman opposition, and with them, each of the Ethnic Groups who still try to resist. Finally, all that will be left in the country will be SPDC and their minions. Then the final Karma will take place where the Han (Chinese) will come down from the North, just like the Huns and Visigoths came down into the Roman Empire from the North. In the case of the Roman Empire, although it fell, it left a Roman legacy in language, customs, judiciary system, art, architecture, and other features of civilization. In the case of the Han (Chinese) they regard the Burman as inferior, like all the peripheral races. Indeed, the Han (Chinese) word for Myanmar is called Miendian, which means somewhere remote. In other words, Burma is simply a remote corner of the Han (Chinese) Central Empire (Zhongguo). Thus, while the fall of the Roman Empire left Europe and the rest of the world with a heritage, the fall of the SPDC Burman Empire will leave nothing. All of it will be assimilated and finally there were will nothing left of the Burma as we know it. This will be the final result. There will be nothing left of the Burma. It will all become part of China. COMRADES! Is this what you want to happen? Do you want this to happen? Let us remind General Than Shwe one more time: Give back power to the ones who rightfully won the elections of 1990 before it is too late! And if the old man still does not listen, then let us resort to the all available Options……!!! Baydin Sayar (Astrologer) ...................................................... Comments Feraya Nangmone said _ Dear Baydin Sayar, thank you for your words of truth and wisdom! Everything in Burma is so unbelievably tragic, no thanks to the ignorant regime, that we have to look at the funny side of it or we will all go crazy!
