Editorial: Cat and Mouse Game

On the eve of the third anniversary of Depayin Massacre, SPDC regime is preparing to play a Cat-and-mouse game.

You might have seen a cat playing with a poor mouse which it has caught. The cat released injured feeble mouse a little bit and then catch it again. And then let it go again for a few seconds and then take it back into its claws again. It’s all just fun for the Cat. But what about the mouse?

In fact it doesn’t matter what the mice feel; the Cat is all powerful and all mighty, so it can do what ever it wants at any time it likes in any way it wants. Just let the mice suffer, anyway, their sufferings won’t last so long because their misery will last just as long as they live; and definitely some of the mice do die under the Cats Claws.

For SPDC authorities, every political prisoner in their detention is just a play-thing like a mouse is for the Cat. They can beat prisoners. They can torture prisoners. They can rape female prisoners. They will make them cry. They can make them weep. They can make them wail. They can make them scream in agony. And they can even make them dance under electric shock.

After they have had enough of abusing prisoners, they use them as bargaining chips to deal with United Nations and international community. Whenever international pressure builds up intensely and whenever United Nations threaten them with serious actions, they’ll release some of their broken enfeebled prisoners. But then after a while some of those released prisoners will quietly disappear again from their homes, secret police knocking their doors at midnight and taking them away to where nobody knows.

If international pressures become intensified too much, they will even release some very important prisoners. And at some times when they have their own very brutal internal power struggles, they may release top level political prisoners to make UN and US happy and kept at bay while they are tending to their own internal problems.

And sometimes they deliberately tell a prisoner that he or she will be released very soon, and let the prisoner wait eagerly for the day of the release. And when the prisoner has fallen into their trap and start dreaming of the outside world, they notify the prisoner that the release has been postponed indefinitely. They do it frequently to cause complete mental break down of a prisoner.

And they can sometimes inflame false expectations for the release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, their biggest bargaining chip, just to dupe naïve UN envoys!

Now, after the impending-release saga, they have declared that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s detention has been extended. But they refused to give an explanation on why they changed their mind after making many hints last week of her impending release. All those false hints were intended just for making UN envoy happy during his visit to Burma? Or may be more? Anyway, her extended detention gives them a chance to release her abruptly_ like a safety valve is opened to let out superheated steam from a boiler_ when they come under extreme duress from UN Security Council formal discussions and binding resolutions. On the other hand, if UN Security Council fails to get consensus on Burma’s case, SPDC generals will keep Daw Aung San Suu Kyi under house arrest endlessly.

The worst scenario that can happen is SPDC generals letting Aunty Suu go free from her detention so that she will go to a public rally in Depayin again and then…….. you know. This time the Cat will finish off the mouse once and for all.

LONG LIVE AUNTY SUU AND GOD SAVE HER!

Cat and Mouse Game will be over when Tiger comes.

Unlike the hapless mice, the NLD fight back and will fight back.  Re SPDC treatment of prisoners, realizing the extent of torture prisoners are subject to, I am sure there are prisoners who will never be subdued: the SPDC will never be able to make them cry, weep or wail. (I know that you wanted to emphasize SPDC brutality.)

Dear Dr.Tayza, what about those who feed the mice to the cat? I think they are (Chinese) encouraging the cat since they think the mice could endanger their wealth and property.

Just realized that the title word, Tricky could stand for _
T-Thailand
R-Russia
I-India
C-China
These are the nations that kept SPDC military regime strong, and it is their TRICs that are hampering Our Revolution.

For 17 years we have suffered and waited, hoping that democracy will prevail without loosing any more young lives on the streets. But it does not seem to be possible anymore.
Meanwhile, young lives are still being shattered in slow motion , anyway. We must do something;  you know what that is.
