“Burma: Reality Check”

AEIOU, a learning institution is open for Dialogue, Discussion, Negotiation and Exchange of Ideas and welcomes anyone interested in Burma including the representative of the tyrannical Burmese Military Junta whose gross human rights violations are known throughout the world.

This week we have to honour to invite a Distinguished Speaker, Derek Tonkin, former British Ambassador to Thailand. Specializing in Southeast Asia, he served in the British Diplomatic Service from 1952 to 1989. He was Ambassador to Vietnam 1980-82, Minister at the British Embassy in South Africa 1983-1986 and Ambassador to Thailand and Laos 1986-89. He is well versed in Burmese affairs.

“Burma: Reality Check” is an appropriate topic for those who are surviving on the whims, obsession, fancies and dream of going back to the mother land. He will paint the real picture, followed by Questions and Answers.
