Birds of the same feather: China Russia and SPDC
_ By Dr San Oo Aung Democracy loving people of Burma hereby wish to thank USA who drafted and Britain who co-sponsored the U.N. Security Council resolution asking Myanmar’s military junta to stop persecution her minority and opposition groups. We would never forget their kind and noble act to help us. The vote was 9-3 in favor of the resolution, with three abstentions only. Although nine countries backed the text, the world’s remaining two Communists, two superpower villains China and Russia shamelessly vetoed the resolution. They had given the lame excuse that those human rights violations were not the work of the Security Council unless they endangered regional or international peace and security. They closed all their eyes and shamelessly claimed that Myanmar Military Government is not committing those crimes. Actually, Russia, China and Burma were all in the same boat, not long ago all of them were Socialists or Communists under dictators. However, nowadays they all tried to change their image into the open market economy because they all know that their previous system is failing them. However, they could not let go their previous privileges so they all are practicing or maintaining their monopoly or controlling the economy with strict rules and regulations to go well with their needs. Both of them are selling weapons, arms, ammunitions and nuclear technology to Myanmar Government. Both of them are helping Uranium mining, extracting and Uranium enrichment programmes. They are also helping Myanmar to build the nuclear reactors. Many Burmese people including students and monks are oppressed; maimed and killed using those bastards-communists’ weapons. Russia and especially China was notorious for their export of Communist ideology to many countries and almost defunct Burma. Burmese Communist party (Ba Ka Pa) and Wa rebels were fully supported by Chinese Communists. Russia's U.N. ambassador Vitaly Churkin was actually scared because they thought what Myanmar Army is doing on the ethnic minorities are not worse than what they are doing on their own ethnic minorities like Chechens. And the Russians had killed jailed and tortured more of their citizens than in Myanmar. What Myanmar Tatmadaw is doing is just a child play or very amateurish. Russians had even done worse atrocities on the people of Poland and Czechoslovakia. So Russians are scared that the Myanmar case might became a test case or precedent to punish the Russians for the atrocities they committed. China's envoy, Wang Guangya also thought about the similar atrocities they had done on their own Chinese Citizens during The Tiananmen Square protests of 4th June 1989, also known as the Tiananmen Square Massacre. The Chinese Communist Army had done worse atrocities on the Yughurs and Xinjiang Muslims. Yunnan Muslims were also brutally prosecuted, persecuted and oppressed. China makes little distinction between separatists, terrorists, and civil rights activists – whether they are Uyghurs, Tibetans, Taiwanese, or Falun Gong Buddhists. What is so special crime did SPDC done? If SPDC is guilty for those atrocities, Communist Chinese leaders might be summoned to The Hague for their crimes against humanity. There are groups calling for the independence of Inner Mongolia from what they view as Chinese imperialism; these groups, however, have less influence and support within and outside Inner Mongolia than similar movements in Tibet, Xinjiang, and Taiwan. In 1950, the Chinese People's Liberation Army entered the Tibetan area of Chamdo, crushing minimal resistance from the ill-equipped Tibetan army. Chinese Red Guards inflicted a campaign of organized vandalism against cultural sites in the entire PRC, including Tibet's Buddhist heritage. Of the several thousand monasteries in Tibet, over 6,500 were destroyed, only a handful remained without major damage, and hundreds of thousands of Buddhist monks and nuns were killed or imprisoned. Tibetan exiles state that the number that have died in the much unwanted Great Leap Forward, of violence, or other indirect causes since 1950 is approximately 1.2 million. Late in 1949, Xinjiang capitulated to the Chinese Communists without a struggle, but there was a Uigur uprising in Hotan in 1954. In the 1990s, the Turkic peoples of Xinjiang’s riots by pro-independence Muslims broke out in 1997. China cracked-down ruthlessly on political dissent and Turkic separatists. Orthodox Islamic practices have been discouraged or suppressed by the government for fear that they will become a focus of Uigur nationalism. Acting U.S. Ambassador Alejandro Wolff said, _ "The United States is deeply disappointed by the failure of the council to adopt this resolution," Wolff continued. "This resolution would have been a strong and urgently needed statement by the Security Council about the need for change in Burma." In addition, he kindly added that the people of Burma should not be disheartened because the vote reflected differences over the Security Council's jurisdiction, not about their plight. All 15 council members recognize that there are problems in the areas of human rights, social issues, and political freedom. The country's "military regime arbitrarily arrests, tortures, rapes and executes its own people, wages war on minorities within its own borders, and builds itself new cities while looking the other way as refugee flows increase, narcotics and human trafficking grow, and communicable diseases remain untreated," he said. The United States expressed deep disappointment over the vetoes of its UN draft resolution on Burma, saying the text would have been a "powerful tool" in efforts to end the suffering of the military-ruled country's people. "The United States is deeply disappointed by the failure of the United Nations Security Council today to adopt the resolution on Burma," State Department deputy spokesman Tom Casey said in a statement. "The Security Council has an obligation to uphold the universal values of human rights as enshrined in the UN Charter," Casey said. "The United States will continue to work for effective Security Council action to defend human rights worldwide," he said. "We believe the proposed resolution would have been a powerful tool in our efforts to help the long-suffering people of Burma," Casey said. "Although Security Council members disagreed whether to adopt a Security Council resolution on Burma, every Security Council member affirmed that the situation in Burma remains unacceptable," Casey said. He said the regime continued to hold over 1,100 political prisoners, including Aung San Suu Kyi and other key civil society leaders, and supported violence against ethnic minorities. The adverse conditions have caused more than one million Burmese to flee to neighboring countries, he added. "The United States stands with the people of Burma in their efforts to build a free and peaceful future. We will continue to work with all our partners and allies to address the deplorable conditions in Burma," he said. Britain's U.N. ambassador, Emyr Jones Parry, who co-sponsored the resolution, told reporters he could look himself in the mirror for pushing the measure. I want tomorrow morning to be able to reassure myself that we did the right thing, the right thing by the people of Myanmar," he said. "They have had 50 years of the most abject misery." No one denied abuses by Myanmar's junta, which has been condemned in the 192-member General Assembly. Ibrahim Gambari, head of U.N. political affairs, said, _ "There are many issues that deserve -- in fact, demand -- the immediate and undivided attention of the Security Council," he said. "Myanmar by no stretch of the imagination is among them." South Africa also voted "no," while Qatar, Indonesia and Congo Republic abstained. Voting with Washington was Britain, France, Belgium, Italy, Ghana, Peru, Panama and Slovakia. Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo had urged military-ruled Burma to free democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi and take "concrete" steps to democracy. However, other greedy and selfish ASEAN leaders are blindly opposing the UNSC voting. Just for now, we should leave them alone as we could not afford to waste our time, waking up to see the irresponsible barking of dogs the whole night. ASEAN leaders know the truth, even Malaysian Foreign Minister Syed Hamid as their ASEAN representative was snubbed by the SPDC. Just let the greedy ASEAN crow to continue eating the SPDC dead elephant and learn the lesson themselves. Now those ASEAN leaders are unknowingly carried away into the middle of the ocean by the dead SPDC elephant. We need to focus on the more important and relevant countries now as they are not important at all in this UNSC voting but simply making noise in order to be able to get a chance to lick the leftover bones of SPDC. For two abstained voters Qatar, Indonesia we need to continue tackling them by lobbying through our Muslim friends and USA. It is not bad as long as they are not voting against us. It is a shame for the South Africa that the whole world had help them fight the Apartheid White Régime but the present South African Government is morally bankrupt to vote against the will of Burmese people to fight the modern Apartheid SPDC. We all should write or talk and request to Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Nelson Mandela. I hope those two great man could be able to influence the shortsighted ungrateful present South Africa government. According to the well-known axiom, our enemies’ enemies should be our friends. One person’s terrorist may be another’s freedom fighter. Therefore, we need to cooperate and work together with the enemies of Russia and China. We all Burmese opposition should recognize_ 1. Taiwan 2. Tibet opposition led by Dalai Lama 3. Uyghurs/Xinjiang Chinese Muslims 4. Yunan Chinese Muslims 5. Inner Mongolians 6. Chechen Rebels of Russia and should need some cooperation with them in propaganda warfare. We need to help the Chinese Colony to break up into democratic free countries. We could even get some financial help if we recognize rich and democratic Taiwan. Communist China’s cruel big bullying even unkindly cut off and exclude the Taiwan people from the World Health Organization. China makes little distinction between separatists, terrorists, and civil rights activists – whether they are Uyghurs, Tibetans, Taiwanese, or Falun Gong Buddhists. Chinese authorities are concerned that increasing international attention to the treatment of its minority and dissident peoples has put pressure on the region, with the US and many Western governments continuing to criticize China for not adhering to its commitments to signed international agreements and human rights. We need to support TAIWAN as revenge to their support for SPDC. Those Chinese Communists never own or rule the Republic of China or "Taiwan", for even one second. But the Communist Chinese bullied the whole world including all the superpowers and even the UN to accept the one China policy. There are groups calling for the independence of Inner Mongolia from what they view as Chinese imperialism; these groups, however, have less influence and support within and outside Inner Mongolia than similar movements in Tibet, Xinjiang, and Taiwan. We are pleased that our 88 Generation leaders’ immediate response that the real power to change the current SPDC is internal people’s power. NLD also condemned China and Russia as greedy about economic and military ties and ignoring the sufferings of the people of Burma. We are especially pleased that our comrades from US had protested in front of Russia and Chinese Embassies. I hereby propose a boycott campaign to the Communist China’s goods by all the people of Burma. It is easy, we just support Taiwan and Thai goods replacing the use of Communist regime's exports. . Comments: Dr Zafar Shah said _ You can see in the today's international news about Great Bully China twisting the arm of Holy See, Pope regarding Taiwan. The Vatican announcement, made last Saturday after two days of high-level debate on China, said the Holy See sought a dialogue with the aim of restoring diplomatic relations with Beijing and said Pope Benedict XVI and the Vatican has indicated it is willing to downgrade relations with Taiwan. But Communist China demanded Pope today, to sever all relations with Taiwan according to "One China" policy. After voting veto To the Myanmar resolution, Chinese Ambassador Wang Guangya words revealed its true colour, he clearly stated that he wished to show that America's thought and act as if they were the sole super power is wrong. So they are trying to even twist the arm of USA.
Ma Thorda said _ Communist and Han Chinese had committed a lot of atrocities on our ancestor Chinese Muslims from Yunnan. My great-grandparents told mother that after the Yunnan Muslims' uprising, Imperial Chinese soldiers just do the ethnic cleansing in all the Muslim villages. Muslim children were tossed into the air by one of them for the other Chinese soldiers to compete who could catch with their spear! During the Cultural Revolution, Muslim Imams or religious leaders were shackled with the pigs and forced to look after the pigs. Therefore, some of the Muslim villagers have no choice but to search for the Chinese wives and asked them to rear pigs and tricked the Chinese soldiers as if those villages were the non-Muslim villages. There is curiously one clan of Chinese in Penang; they are no more Muslims but they pulled a copy of the Holy Koran with the rope to the roof. If some one died, they release the rope and put the Koran at the head of the death and all the relatives and the family of the deceased refrained from eating pork for forty days. They could not read the Koran and are not practicing any other teachings of Islam. This is clearly the result of ethnic cleansing in their home back in China.
