Real Union Day Celebration
Wecome one Welcome All
Burmese University Students will celebrate the Union Day at the Payap University in Chiang Mai, with love, unity, sincerity and friendliness. With the support of Payap’s Campus Diversity Coordinator, the Payap University Burmese Students are organizing the first International Culture Series with the Union Day on Monday, 12 February 2007 from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the ground floor of the Graduate Studies Building, Mae Khao Campus, Payap University. They will be joined by the All Ethnic International Open University (AEIOU) of Chiang Mai University, Thailand. There will be an exhibition on national heritage and culture showing the different nationalities as well as video shows, presentations about languages and their roots, an art exhibition (you can buy paintings by Myanmar artists at the event) and exotic ethnic and Burmese foods. Various ethnic nationality cultural dances will be presented, Union Solidarity (Pyidaungsu) songs will be sung, Fellowship and friendships will be in abundance while all the goodies will be there to enjoy. The Faculty staffs of both the Universities will participate on this auspicious occasion. It’s a Home far away from Home. The real Union Day celebrated in the aurora of freedom, equality and fraternity. There will be buffet-style lunch and tickets are being sold for only Baht40 (a little more than US1.00) each. About 200 International and Thai students and the faculty members from both the Universities are expected to be at this Union Day celebration.
