Paris Meeting of NGOs for Burma
_ reported by Nay San Lwin U Bo Hla Tint of NCGUB (National Coalition Government of Union of Burma) had a meeting in Paris with French NGOs working on Burma in the meeting Hall of FIDH on 27.02.2007. The meeting was organized by IN-FO Birmanie , an NGO working restlessly on Burma's issue. U Bo Hla Tint explained the situation of political activities especially after the exercise of double-veto in UNSC. He encouraged the NGOs working on Burma and explained future programe of activities in the European Union. Many NGOs attended and expressed their views on the issue of Burma. They all promised to push France as well as European Union as far as they could on the situation of Burma. Then U Bo Hla Tint answered the questions raised by the different NGOs. The meeting was finished at 12.30. U Bo Hla Tint also gave a Press Conference in the House of France Radio; he was accompanied by Thierry Falise, the author of the book "Le Jasmin ou la Lune" (The Jasmine or the Moon) dedicated to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, and some famous French artists who are launching a 90-days campaign on the net for the release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi from detention by Burma's military regime. The author of the book Thierry Falise explained his points of view on Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and on Burma. Then the two artists added that they will use all channels of media to raise the attention of French public on the issue of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi as Burmese issue was known very little to the French public. During the occasion, an artist M. Abraham read a poem dedicated to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
