Daw Suu Birthday Celebrated in Palace of Westminster

The British All Party Parliamentary Group for Democracy in held a birthday reception in honour of Nobel Peace Laureate and Democracy leader, Aung San Suu Kyi’s 62nd birthday.  It took place in the Jubilee Room at the House of Commons, Westminster Parliament, on 19th June 2007 from 6 PM to 8 PM.

The event was hosted by the Chair of the APPG, John Bercow MP. MP John Barcow opened the reception with a speech honouring Daw Suu, and after that Foreign Minister Ian McCartney spoke about his views on the notorious regime and the breached rights of the people in Burma.
