Junta's Plan to Massacre Prayer Sayers for Daw Suu

_ reported by Sai Min Lwin

On 19.06.2007, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's 62nd birthday, thousands of Junta lackey thugs carrying iron-rods and long knives and coming on government supplied light trucks, from pro-military semi-political organizations, such as Kyant Phunt and Swan-arr-shin groups which are styled after Nazi brown-shirts, waited near Shwedagon Pagoda to ambush peaceful prayer-sayers who were expected to come to the pagoda to say prayers for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on her birthday.

The usually crowded Shwedagon Pagoda was devoid of well-wishers on that day, as thugs were blocking entrances to the pagoda

This is no doubt the ploy of the military rulers to preempt a show of love and devotion on the part of the people on Daw Suu who has stood her ground firmly and courageously against Than Shwe's military rule and his designs for establishment of a military dynasty in Burma.
The military regime is still in fear of Daw Suu as it knows that the people are still regarding her as their most legitimate leader who can bring them freedom and prosperity deprived of them since the debut of the military rulers decades ago.
Using USDA members and others as proxies to stem the tide of show of love and devotion on Daw Suu by the people is only the beginning of the big picture.
