World Refugee Day Symposium in Japan

In honour of Word Refugee Day, Burmese expatriates in Japan in association with HUman Rights Watch NGO made a Refugee Symposium last week. Discussions were made about Japanese government's current very harsh policy on Burmese asylum seekers, the sufferings of Burmese detainees in Japanese immigration detention centres, and the need to help Burmese refugees who fled Burma to escape persecution by Burmese military government.
